Gansam Architects & Partners participated in the first architecture exhibition in the Suwon IPARK Museum of Art, ‘Architecture of Structure’

 

Suwon IPARK Museum of Art host ‘Architecture of Structure’ for the first exhibition this year.
‘Architecture of Structure’ is the first architecture exhibition held in the Suwon IPARK Museum of Art. This exhibition is planned to explore the aesthetic value of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress from the perspective of architecture and visual arts, and present it with a modern sense.
A total of nine artists including Gansam participated in this exhibition. In particular, Gansam Architects & Partners, who won the Grand Prize in the 2017 Gyeonggido Architecture Awards with the design of Suwon IPARK Museum of Art, participated in the project to present the motif and relationship of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress in the museum architecture through the artwork, enhancing its meaning.
Gansam focused on the essential construction method of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, and started the artwork from the shape, materials composing the shape, and construction methods, which are the basic elements of the construction. Through the artwork ‘Stay Stand then,’ they are asking questions about the ever-changing features of Hwaseong and its role.
