Designed by Gansam Architects & Partners, Future Center of Yonsei University Health System had its groundbreaking ceremony

On 16th, Monday, the Future Center of Yonsei University Health System had its groundbreaking ceremony for Particle Therapy Cancer Center at the Yonsei University Health System Atrium. With this ceremony, Yonsei Cancer Center will complete the basic civil engineering work, which has been proceeded since July 2018, and begin construction in earnest. Lee Taesang, a directing architect for the design said, “It was designed to create a new treatment environment suitable for Korea’s first particle therapy center. The exterior of the building embodied the shape of carbon ion particles shot at the speed of light in the particle therapy machine, and the treatment facility on the lower ground floor is planned to be healing space in the natural background of azalea hill by creating sunken garden.”
